I based my Pendraken British infantry (see the last post) on the 20 x 15mm laser-cut MDF bases I bought at Carronade (see Post 9). The base size seemed to work fine: on the small side but easy enough to pick up. I mounted the two officers as a battalion command on a 20mm round laser-cut MDF base. I textured the bases in my usual way with a covering of dark-brown grout painted over with emulsion paint with static grass and grass tufts glued on. The static grass I used was the same static grass I used for all my wargames projects as it matched the static grass I used on my terrain tiles. To give more of a suggestion of desert terrain, on the other hand, I chose to use grass tufts that looked more dried out, like winter and highland varieties.
