Painted House

I painted the L-shaped house featured in Post 202. I first used the same acrylic modelling paste I mentioned in Post 199  to give some texture to the flat areas, paying particular attention to the areas around the revealed brick patches. The windows panes were done in the same way – gloss varnish over slate-grey paint – as described in Post 198. I was aware that it was pretty easy to always paint the bricks of walls and chimney stacks brick-red without giving it a second thought. However, red brick may not have been as common in Essling as it was elsewhere. As a result, I changed tack after painting the wall bricks and painted the chimney stack bricks a grey-brown.
